Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo – Book Review

Hello All!!!

Today I was able to finish up Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. It took me so long, but that is mainly because I wanted to enjoy each and every word of that book. After reading it I wanted to do the review post today itself. Normally, as you may all know, I do my reviews on Sundays. But, I wanted to do the review today it self.

The hype to read this book was generated from the blogosphere itself. I seriously had no idea about the author or the book. But after seeing all the great reviews, I did not hesitate to head into the library to borrow the book. It was in my anticipated reads for 2018. I must say I still find it really hard to gather my thoughts to write a cohesive review about the story.

Synopsis

Criminal prodigy Kaz Brekker has been offered wealth beyond his wildest dreams. But to claim it, he’ll have to pull off a seemingly impossible heist:

Break into the notorious Ice Court
(a military stronghold that has never been breached)

Retrieve a hostage
(who could unleash magical havoc on the world)

Survive long enough to collect his reward
(and spend it)

Kaz needs a crew desperate enough to take on this suicide mission and dangerous enough to get the job done – and he knows exactly who: six of the deadliest outcasts the city has to offer. Together, they just might be unstoppable – if they don’t kill each other first. (from Goodreads)

My Review

As I mentioned earlier, it is really difficult for me to gather my thoughts to write a review. The story was fantastic and it was one of the best books that I read after a long time.

the story is about a gang who is given a deadly task to fulfill. They are required to retrieve a hostage from the Ice Court. In return they are being offered wealth beyond their dreams. Six deadly outcasts in the city comes together, in accomplishing the deadly  task.

The unique features that I found in the story;

  1. The story is full of actions and each word proves it.
  2. from the start till the end, you will be hooked to the story.
  3. It is really interesting to see the mission, from each members point of view.

This was the very first book I read, of Leigh Bardugo, and I deeply fell into the story. It was amazing and made me forget all about the real world.

Favorite Male Character

Kaz Brekker, for all his efforts, planning and hard work. Also for his deep love for Inej.

Favorite Female Character

Inej. for who she is and for the strong woman within her.
