Reading, Reading, Reading!!! All about it….

Hello All!!!

I am going to be discussing about Reading today! You all know it is vital to read. But why do I read? What do I get through it? That is what, I am going to be talking in this post.

As you all know, reading is my best way of spending my free time. I like to read any book, that has a good story. Of course it has to take my heart. Lately I have understood that, there are many books that many book lovers read and say it is great. But I have found them, not much interesting. So when I am choosing a book, I choose it really carefully.

I found this picture on Pinterest (original source unknown). It gives the whole idea on reading. There are many reasons to read books. These are mine ;

  1. It is the best hobby that I have ever had.
  2. I can use anytime or any place to read.
  3. Does not consume my energy like I am doing any other work. I can relax while reading.
  4. Definitely it improved my vocab
  5. It is the best way I use to reduce my stress levels everyday.
  6. Improves my concentration levels.
  7. After all this, it obviously improved my writing skills.
  8. Improved my memory.
  9. I am a Sri Lankan and here in my country we have our own language, sinhala. But I improved my English because of reading.
  10. An ordinary  person has one life, but a person who reads has many lives.

So these are my reasons behind reading. And it had definitely improved my knowledge and my level of English. But I need to learn more 😉😉😉

When reading a book, I love the way it carries you to that different world. It is amazing. I think it is mainly because of the writing skills of the author.

    Let’s Discuss!!!

Why do you read? What have you experienced through reading??? Do leave a comment below.

    Until next post!!!

Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #143

    Hello All,

Today is Hungry Hearts and Thirsty Thursday, hosted by my fellow blogger, Lexxie @ (Un) Conventional Book Views

This is my second post , and I must say, I  am enjoying it very much.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not.  Share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Share your link to the main post, once you have published your post.

So this is what I chose for this week.

My current read is When Dimple met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. At the time of speaking, Dimple has just arrived at San Francisco and is having a chilling cup of Starbucks iced coffee, thinking on what she would do during the day.

Iced coffee is what made me choose this part of the book. Because I was secretly thinking about having one myself. So it suited my current obsession and thought straight away to go with this one….

“An iced coffee, please,” she told the cute male barista with the septum piercing. The coffee shop buzzed, college students mingling like showy tropical fish with their brightly colored hair. The sheer scope and number of tattoos and piercings would have Mamma fainting. Dimple adored it. Clutching her iced drink, she made her way outside and meandered over to a stone fountain of the SFSU gator (which was turned off; thank you, drought conditions). Dimple sat on the lip of the bowl and tipped her face up to the sky, soaking up the sunshine and thinking about how she’d spend the next hour. Should she go by the Insomnia Con building now or do that with Celia later? She wanted to stop by the library, too, to see if they had the new Jenny Lindt memoir. …
