The Versatile Blogger Award

Hello and Welcome to my Blog!!

I am back after sometime. I was in complete awe to see that I was nominated for the Versatile Blogger Award by two of the amazing book bloggers Bookbugworld and Book Rambler – Shalini

Thanking them for nominating me and here I am taking part,

Like any other award posts, Versatile Blogger Award has some rules.

  • Once you are nominated by a fellow blogger, you are a recipient of the award.
  • Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog back in your post.
  • Find fifteen fellow bloggers and nominate them for The Versatile Blogger Award.
  • Make a post revealing seven unknown facts about you. (**This should be easy, right?)
  • Include the above-mentioned rules in your award post.

Here are the seven unknown facts about me;

  1. My very recent and newest obsessions are, listening to podcasts & Tattoos. My favorite Podcast is Goal Digger Podcast by Jenna Kutcher and as for Tattoos, I have already got one and planning to get another 2 more.
  2. Music is my life. I must admit the fact that I can’t sing and even if I do sometimes, it is rather difficult to listen. But I love music and I enjoy every moment I spend with music playing in my background.
  3. If I put the next fact about me in simple words – I love food. I am foodie and love eating almost anything at, any time of the day. Which I know,  sounds crazy 🙂 🙂 🙂
  4. The most influential person in my life is my Grandfather, who left me forever, exactly one year back.
  5. I love watching horror movies and Annabelle is my favorite
  6. I laugh a lot and I make the people around me laugh more than I do.
  7. I enjoy my life in the city and I love the hustle and bustle. I know most of you think that, getting away from the city into the peaceful village area is the best idea. But, I find it rather lonely and I completely enjoy the city life.

These are some of the facts that you do not know about me. Remember, there is more!!!

Now it is my turn to nominate another set of wonderful bloggers, and here they are;

I hope you enjoyed!

Until next post,

Down the TBR Hole #2

Hello All!!!

Welcome to my blog in my second post of Down the TBR Hole hosted by Lost in a Story

The whole idea of this meme is to cleanse your Goodreads TBR pile. As we book lovers, all know, our TBR piles are growing sky-high. Sometimes, we have added such a lot of books, and in the end we do not even know, why we have added them into our TBR.

By taking part in this meme, what you are going to do is;

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

So, this is what I have for you this week;

1. The Glass Spare by Lauren DeStefano.

10518900.jpgWil Heidle, the only daughter of the king of the world’s wealthiest nation, has grown up in the shadows. Kept hidden from the world in order to serve as a spy for her father—whose obsession with building his empire is causing a war—Wil wants nothing more than to explore the world beyond her kingdom, if only her father would give her the chance.

Until one night Wil is attacked, and she discovers a dangerous secret. Her touch turns people into gemstone. At first Wil is horrified—but as she tests its limits, she’s drawn more and more to the strange and volatile ability. When it leads to tragedy, Wil is forced to face the destructive power within her and finally leave her home to seek the truth and a cure.

But finding the key to her redemption puts her in the path of a cursed prince who has his own ideas for what to do with her power.

2. Marrying for Money by Chris Manby

When the glamorous Grosvenor sisters arrive in the exclusive Hamptons beach town of Little Elbow, they can’t help but cause a stir. Gorgeous Grace and Charming Charity are soon hot favourites on everybody’s guest-list. Except that of their neighbour, Marcella Hunter. Heiress Marcella doesn’t want the competition and when Grace starts dating Marcella’s ‘Plan B’ man – dull but extraordinarily rich Choate Fitzgerald – the gloves are off. Marcella determines to find out where the sisters really came from. And exactly how they can afford to rent a six-bedroom beach house in this millionaires’ playground. In the process, however, it’s discovered that quite a few of the people spending that summer in Little Elbow are not exactly what they seem..

3. We are all made of Molecules by Susin Nielsen

Thirteen-year-old Stewart is academically brilliant but socially clueless. Fourteen-year-old Ashley is the undisputed “It” girl in her class, but her grades stink.

Their worlds are about to collide when Stewart and his dad move in with Ashley and her mom. Stewart is trying to be 89.9 percent happy about it, but Ashley is 110 percent horrified. She already has to hide the real reason her dad moved out; “Spewart” could further threaten her position at the top of the social ladder.They are complete opposites. And yet, they have one thing in common: they—like everyone else—are made of molecules.

Opinion : Let Go!

4. The truth commission by Susan Juby

This was going to be the year Normandy Pale came into her own. The year she emerged from her older sister’s shadow—and Kiera, who became a best-selling graphic novelist before she even graduated from high school, casts a long one. But it hasn’t worked out that way, not quite. So Normandy turns to her art and writing, and the “truth commission” she and her friends have started to find out the secrets at their school. It’s a great idea, as far as it goes—until it leads straight back to Kiera, who has been hiding some pretty serious truths of her own.

Opinion : Let Go!

5. Lobsters by Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivison

Sam and Hannah only have the holidays to find ‘The One’. Their lobster. But instead of being epic, their summer is looking awkward. They must navigate social misunderstandings, the plotting of well-meaning friends, and their own fears of being virgins for ever to find happiness. But fate is at work to bring them together. And in the end, it all boils down to love.

These are the five books that I have picked for this week, and out of the five I have decided to let go two of the books and to keep 3 of them back in my TBR pile, with the hope of reading them soon.

I have included the synopsis of each book for today’s post, just to make you guys comfortable, and to decide whether, that I have taken the correct decision.

Please share your thoughts and ideas in the comments below, since I would love to hear them.

Until next post,

Celebrity Chef Zombie Apocalypse by Jack D. McLean – Book Review

Hello Book Lovers!!!

Welcome to my blog on this lovely Sunday! I am here with another wonderful book review.

First things first, I need to thank the Author, Jack D. McLean for sending a digital copy of the book, in exchange for an honest review.

Let us head into my review;

Celebrity Chef Zombie Apocalypse by Jack D. McLean

Synopsis (from Goodreads)

After the celebrity chef rises from his grave, he aims to create a zombie army of chefs who will rule the world, using the human species as the main ingredient in their cordon bleu meals.
Part horror story, part social satire, this novel gives you a fast-paced entrée of dread, followed by a main course of panic and a dessert of distress. (from Goodreads)

My Review

  1. This is the story of a celebrity chef, who rises from the dead to and who ends up creating a Zombie Army, to rule the world.
  2. The story is being unfolded in front of the reader, just like watching a movie.
  3. The settings, pre and post apocalypse scenarios are vividly described.
  4. All the characters are well constructed and linked to the story very carefully and appropriately.
  5. In the end, the reader is left to think will the destruction ever stop?
  6. The story has brought Culinary Masters and horrific Zombies together, to create a one-in-a-million story.
  7. I have never read a book like this before and I can say that the story is original and unique.
  8. This dark, terrifying and dangerous short read, will surely make you entertained.

My Rating

(4/5) Exceptional

Hope you enjoyed!!!
